Notes from the Principal

Welcome back to Term 4
I can't believe we are in the final Term of 2026, and it is jam packed with learning and extra-curricular activities. Keep an eye on uEducateUs and our What’sApp group for reminders and updates.
I want to congratulate our students on fantastic attendance to start this Term. We have had almost 100% attendance every day, and students are arriving on time and ready to learn. This can be challenging at this time of year, as our body clocks adjust to daylight savings. Keep up the excellent mindset team!
Congratulations Maddie Porter
Our Year 5 legend Maddie competed at Region Athletics in Ballarat last Friday. Out of the top competitors in U11 100m sprint, Maddie came third in her heat and ninth overall. Way to go Maddie!
Landcare - Tree Planting
Our whole school will go down to the Wannon River next Friday to help Landcare plant trees. There will be a free BBQ lunch at 12pm provided by the Cavendish Lion's Club. THERE WILL BE NO LUNCH ORDERS FROM THE SHOP ON THIS DAY.
If your child does not like sausages in bread, please send them with some lunch. Gluten free options TBC. Students will need to be in school uniform, apply sunscreen and be dressed for the weather. They will need a HAT and GUMBOOTS. We will be taking school bags with us, so please pack snacks and a water bottle.
Students are encouraged to wear running shoes to school and carry their gumboots to the planting site in a separate bag.
Could parents please consent for their child/children to attend this event on the school app.
Bike Riding
Thanks to Variety - The Children's Charity, the Schools Mental Health Fund and our wonderful volunteer bike builders we have started riding our bikes! In Week 1 we had a quick run down on the rules and riding safely on the playground, then a short practice. I am looking forward to spending more time with everyone riding the bikes. Next steps are to renovate the fitness track so it can double as a bike track.
Hot Lunches finishing
Now that the weather is starting to warm up we will no longer be doing heat up lunches on Wednesdays. Students are still welcome to purchase lunch from the Bridge Cafe on Fridays.

The Fleece & Flower Show is fast approaching. It's time to start getting your entries together.
