Learning and Wellbeing Conferences

Learning and Wellbeing Conferences (Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews) are now open for booking and will be held face-to-face, onsite Thursday 7th May 2026, 12:30pm to 7:30pm.The Conferences provide an important opportunity to discuss with classroom teachers your student’s progress and identify key steps for continued improvement. We do expect students be present for the Conferences with a parent/carer. Bookings via Compass Conferences are open until 12:00PM Wednesday 6th May 2026. SCHOOL BUS TIMETABLE CHANGES FROM TERM 1, 2026

From Term 1, starting 28 January 2026, several Ventura school bus services will operate under new timetables.

This includes the 1097 service that travels to Wheelers Hill Secondary College in the morning. Students are advised to review the updated schedules before travelling.

The new timetables are available on Ventura’s website or below.

2026 CSEF Applications

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) provides payments for eligible students to attend activities like:

school camps or trips
swimming and school-organised sport programs
outdoor education programs
excursions and incursions

Applications for 2026 are now open, through until the end of term 2, 2026. If you applied for the CSEF at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in 2025, you do not need to complete an application form in 2026 unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

You will only need to apply in 2026 if any of the following changes have occurred:

New student enrolments: your child has started or changed schools in 2026 or you did not apply at the same school in 2025 or
Changed family circumstances: such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing at the school in 2026.

Schools are able to accept and process applications up until the end of term two each year. This year the cut-off date for applications is Friday 26th June. CSEF payments are made to schools from March onwards each year.

Compass

It is important that parents regularly access Compass because it is our primary platform for communication between home and school. Through Compass, we share important updates, announcements, event information, permission forms, and reminders to ensure families stay informed and involved. It also allows parents to monitor attendance, view academic progress, receive feedback from teachers, and communicate directly with the school when needed. By checking Compass consistently, parents can stay up to date with what is happening in their child’s education and work in partnership with us to support their learning and wellbeing. If you are having issues accessing Compass, please contact the relevant sub school for assistance. 2026 School Council Approved Contributions

2026 School Council Approved Contributions are available to pay via the Payments Centre on Compass. You can choose to pay Contributions in full or via a payment plan. If you opt for a payment plan after an instalment date, Compass will deduct payment from your credit card on the following day for past instalment dates with remaining payments in line with the advertised dates. Alternatively, 2026 Contributions are open for payment via the Payments Centre for the full school year so you do have the option of making part payments at any time during the year when it is convenient to you.

Curriculum Contributions for Year 9 – 12 Subjects/Electives which incur additional costs are available to pay to pay via Compass Events. We are pleased to let you know there are no increases to subject/elective contributions for 2026.

All contributions are appreciated and used effectively. Your ongoing support ensures that we can strive to achieve high-quality educational outcomes, excellent facilities and a stimulating learning environment which engages and nurtures all learners to achieve their goals for the future.

In 2025, we furnished the new Learning and Wellbeing Centre, upgraded student toilet blocks with new paint and vape detectors and landscaped our grounds. We installed new signage as well water bubblers displaying student artwork. We have also invested in modern furniture, appliances and equipment for our STEM Lab. Your contributions allow us to employ a Registered School Nurse and provide extra administrative support, including in our Wellbeing team. All initiatives are focused on providing better learning and wellbeing outcomes for our students. We thank you for your continued support.

Payment Process and Closing Dates for Excursions and Activities via Compass

Camps, excursions, and other school-based activities that have a financial charge associated with them fall under the Extra-Curricular Items and Activities category of fees and are offered to students on a ‘user pays’ basis. They are offered in addition tot he standard curriculum.

Cut-off dates for payment and consent on Compass are set by the school to assist us in meeting our financial and duty of care requirements for each event. In support of meeting these obligations, we are not able to extend due dates for events or take overdue payments.

Regular email reminders are sent and students are also reminded by their classroom teachers about events and when payment and consent must be received. If payment or consent is not received by the due date, your child will not be able to attend the activity and will be supervised by teachers at school.

If you have received CSEF funding and would like to allocate it towards a Compass Event, or have credit on your family statement that you would like to use, please contact us at business.manager@whsc.vic.edu.au and we can apply the credit to the event on your behalf.

Compass has the functionality to 'Pay with CSEF or credit balance' for Events. If you have insufficient funds on your family account to cover the cost of that event we will allocate the amount that is available and then update the event to show the amount still required to be paid. Payment of the balance will need to be made before the event cut-off date for your child to be eligible to attend. If you select to use CSEF or credit to pay for an Event on Compass, please check the Event again before the closing date to make sure that any outstanding balance is paid.

Please ensure that if payment is made via the office with CSEF, credit allocation, credit card or cash, that you log on to Compass prior to the closing date to provide Consent for your child to attend the event.
