Years 3 - 5

Welcome to Term 2. The senior students have settled back into classroom routines, expectations, and learning with ease. We began the week by sharing holiday highlights and reconnecting through group games that promoted teamwork and positive relationships.
This week, our learning has focused on the significance of ANZAC Day. Students explored the important roles animals played in the war and researched the key features and meaning of the ANZAC slouch hat. In Art, we created collages of poppies in a field to reflect this learning.
Looking ahead, we are excited to begin our class novel Matilda by Roald Dahl. In Humanities, students will explore democracy in Australia, including the importance of rules and the electoral process. In Science, we will investigate the states of matter, how heating and cooling can cause change, and the difference between reversible and irreversible changes. In PE, students will develop essential soccer skills, while in Art they will create a variety of pieces, including autumn-themed collages and artworks involving chemical reactions.
