Library Visit

Library Visit with Author Catherine Rains
On Monday, students from Years 2 to 6 walked to the local library for a special visit with author and illustrator Catherine Rains. We were joined by Tumbarumba Primary School, making it a lovely community event.
Catherine is a former television dog trainer from Melbourne who now lives in Cootamundra and writes books inspired by her experiences with working dogs. She has published three titles that share practical advice and heartfelt stories about life with dogs. During her visit, she read A Clever Kid’s Guide to Living with Dogs, which the students found both informative and engaging.
Her kelpie, Indy, also joined us, adding a touch of excitement to the morning. Catherine was generous with her time, demonstrating how to teach a dog new tricks! Mrs Rains answered our students' questions with warmth and care. Hopefully, the experience encouraged curiosity, kindness towards dogs, and a deeper appreciation for storytelling.
Student Report:
On a winter morning, All Saints and the Public school walked down to the library to meet a special author and her dog, Indi. When we arrived there we met Catherine Rains and Indi. Catherine first read the book ‘The Clever Kids Guide To Living With Dogs.’ We then did a slideshow of different dogs showing if they were happy or sad. We did a guessing game of how many dogs she has and the answer was 25 plus 8 puppies. We finished up with petting Indi and collecting our umbrellas then headed back to school.
