YEAR 1 AND 2 MUSIC

This term, Year 1 and 2 students have enthusiastically embraced composing during music lessons! They learned to sing the rhyming folk song Down by the Bay and explored how rhyme is used within the song. Students demonstrated great creativity by composing their own verses, incorporating imaginative and quirky rhyming patterns.

We also read the humorous book The Diddle that Dummed to further explore rhythm and melody. Using the story as inspiration, students composed their own rhythms, and next week they will add a so-mi melody to their compositions, which they will sing and perform on xylophones.
