Student Representative Council (SRC)
SRC stands for Student Representative Council. The SRC are a decision making team responsible for sharing the opinions and ideas of their peers. Each Semester, two students from each class are chosen by their peers to make up the SRC.
The SRC helps to support a meaningful student voice at St Cecilia's, providing opportunities for students to engage, participate, lead and learn.
Classes hold a class meeting regularly to discuss teaching and learning activities, good things happening at St Cecilia’s and areas children consider needs attention. The SRC then meet together to share their findings. The SRC also work with the Student Wellbeing Leader and other teachers to help organise whole school events and fundraisers.
The Student Representative Council:
- Lead others by good example in words and actions
- Uphold the St Cecilia’s Ethos
- Attend regular meetings with Staff SRC leader and report back to class
- Make suggestions and respond to issues raised by the student body
- Give up some of their time to organise activities and take responsibility for tasks
- Listen attentively and communicate effectively
- Treat others with respect, regardless of age or gender
- Follow school, classroom and SRC rules and helps others do this well
- Present important information at Assemblies
The SRC are currently working on the Book Bazaar, an initiative to raise money for the Indigneous Literacy Foundation.
