16 Days of Activism – Say NO to Domestic & Family Violence - Week 1
Seymour College is proud to support the Rotary Club of Seymour’s Say NO to Domestic & Family Violence campaign.
Over the coming weeks, you may notice some of our staff wearing their campaign T-shirts each Monday. This is a simple but visible way to start conversations, raise awareness and show that family violence has no place in our community.
Each Monday, we’ll also share information about family violence, available supports and ways we can all help create a safer community.
🧡 See the signs. Start the conversation. Say NO to Domestic & Family Violence.
Week 2 — Monday 17 August 2026
NOTICE THE PURPLE
You may notice Seymour College staff, rotary members and local supporters wearing purple on Mondays.
Purple represents courage, hope, dignity, and our shared commitment to preventing domestic and family violence. It is a visible reminder that safety, equality, and respect matter in every relationship.

Practice Shoot
On Sunday 2 August, Seymour College shooters, along with students from St Mary’s College, participated in a practice day in preparation for the October Benalla Shoot.
A huge thank you to Seymour Field and Game providing our students with the opportunity to practise in a safe and supportive environment, and for their generous donation of ammunition and clay targets.
Our next practice shoot will be held on Sunday, 4 October. If you would like to participate, please email sal.oconnor@smseymour.catholic.edu.au
Well done to all students involved and thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success!
Supporting Our Young People
It was a privilege to welcome Ryan from 'headspace' and Nathan from 'Be You' to our school last week.
They delivered a parent information session on supporting your child’s mental health, professional development for staff, and mental health sessions for our students.
A great week of building awareness and supporting mental health and self-care across our school community.
🇦🇺 VIETNAM VETERANS DAY 2026 🇦🇺
What an incredible day for our students and our community.
Today, Seymour College joined Vietnam veterans, the School of Armour and ADF representatives, emergency services, community groups, local schools and members of our wider community at the Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Walk to commemorate Vietnam Veterans Day.
One of the most moving moments saw 18 of our VM students each hold a photograph of one of the 18 Australians who lost their lives at the Battle of Long Tan – putting faces to the names and helping ensure their stories and sacrifices are carried forward by the next generation.
We are incredibly proud of all our students who spoke, carried flags, laid wreaths and helped make today’s service so special.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed, including the local businesses who generously provided morning tea for our guests. The support from our entire community was amazing. ❤️
A very special day of remembrance, respect and community.
Lest We Forget. 🇦🇺
