Year 7 Agriculture Students Explore the Science of Flowers
Our Year 7 Agriculture students have been discovering the fascinating world of flowering plants by investigating how flowers reproduce and why they are so important to food and fibre production.
Students learnt about the role of pollination and fertilisation, exploring how pollen is transferred from the male parts of a flower to the female parts, allowing seeds and fruit to develop. They also examined the vital role that pollinators such as bees, butterflies and other insects play in supporting healthy ecosystems and agricultural production.
To bring their learning to life, students undertook a hands-on flower dissection, carefully identifying and labelling the sepals, petals, stamens, anthers, filaments, stigma, style and ovary. This practical activity helped students connect classroom theory with real plant structures while developing their observation and scientific investigation skills.
It was a fantastic hands-on lesson that highlighted the importance of flowers in producing the food and fibre we rely on every day.

Attendance Competition
We are excited to announce that Omnia has generously funded Gnarly Neighbours to deliver 10 periods over two days of skateboarding sessions at our school.
To make the most of this opportunity, we have decided to run an an attendance competition for all classes and Home Groups. The 10 classes with the highest attendance, measured from this week through to the end of Week 8, will each receive a Gnarly Neighbours skateboarding session on either Tuesday 8 September or Wednesday 9 September (Week 9).
This initiative has created some excitement, while also recognising and reinforcing the importance of regular school attendance across our school community.

Senior School Information Night Report
We were delighted to host a highly successful Senior School Information Evening last Wednesday, which drew a large and engaged audience. The event featured outstanding displays and presentations, providing parents and students with valuable information and opportunities to pose questions about various pathways.
