Gippsland Netball

Congratulations to our Intermediate boys netball team, who put in an outstanding performance at the Gippsland regional championships, finishing in second place. The boys showed great determination, teamwork and competitiveness throughout the day, demonstrating how much they have developed as a team. They worked hard for each other, competed strongly against some quality opposition, and represented the school with pride.
The team beat Nagle and Bass Coast, but narrowly lost to Marist Warragul in their first game of the day by 3. Kobe Parsons and Ben Tews were amazing in the goals, while Charlie Coates, Campbell Hanna, Max Hitchcliffe and Harry Dierickx held up the defence with great intercepts and rebounds. Zac Svenson, Rusty Krouwer and Darcy Hanson ran the midcourt. Well done to Campbell Hanna, a usual shooter, who was placed in defence after Jett Dillon's injury the day before. Kobe Parsons showed off his knowledge of the game, recently winning gold with the Victorian 15Us team at Nationals and being selected in the All-Australian Team, congratulations Kobe it is a great acknowledgement of your athleticism and skills, we are very proud of your achievements.
The Year 8 boys team had a nail-biter for their last game, ending with a draw at the final whistle. The boys were very competitive and showed a positive attitude throughout the day, working well together. Lachie Marshal, Kodi Ratten and Mason McLernon put the goals on the board for the day with accurate shooting. Logan Powel, Leo Coates, Michael Delaney and Joshua Joromat had tight defence, working well together. Riddick Johnson, Levi Veentra and Rex Hamilton connected plays through the midcourt. It was a great effort for the team to make it through to Regionals, and I look forward to seeing them grow in future years.
