Senior Girls Gippsland Basketball

The Senior girls went to Traralgon for the Gippsland Round, firstly they competed against Marist Sion. Maffra led for the majority of first half and were down by 1 at the break 13 to 14. Bella Hunt, Leila Hunt, Charlotte Nikolajew and Milla Oldham were the main scorers for the game. Summer Harbour, Lara Dowsett and Lacey Bowker pressed hard adding pressure to the opposition. All players displayed great ball skills and determination and showcased a positive fun attitude through teamwork.

Finally, Maffra versed a very strong Bass Coast, the girls found it hard to score in the first half but excelled in the second half with Milla Oldham scoring 12 points. Lara Dowsett scored a three point which brought a lift to the team. Leila Hunt, Lacey Bowker, Charlotte Nikolajew and Summer Harbour worked tirelessly in defence. Bella Hunt and Milla Oldham showed great knowledge of the game and were the main play markers throughout the day.
