Year 12 OES -Wilson's Prom

Our Year 11 and 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies students recently travelled to Wilsons Promontory National Park for a valuable fieldwork experience that combined adventure with hands-on learning.

Throughout the camp, students completed a series of bushwalks while exploring the park's diverse coastal and forest environments. Along the way, they observed natural processes, identified human impacts on the environment, and examined how management strategies help protect one of Victoria's most iconic national parks.

A major focus of the excursion was collecting primary data for each student's independent investigation, which forms an important part of their final School Assessed Coursework (SAC). Students recorded environmental observations, gathered field data, and applied the skills they've developed in class to a real-world setting.

The trip provided an excellent opportunity for students to connect with the environment they are studying, strengthen their fieldwork skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the relationships between people and outdoor environments.
