Italian

Italian in 1/2
Our Year 1/2 students have been enjoying learning Italian through the delightful story Mangia, Mangia! Throughout the past few weeks, the students have been building their vocabulary and developing their confidence using Italian words and phrases from the text.
They have been learning and practising key food words including minestrone, carne, insalata, formaggio, frutta and pane e Nutella! Through games and classroom activities, they have become confident in recognising and using these words.
Over the next two weeks, students will be creating and playing their own Mangia, Mangia! board game.
As they move around the game board, they will practise counting in Italian and use common game expressions such as Tocca a te! ("It's your turn!"). This will help reinforce their vocabulary while encouraging them to communicate in Italian with their game partner.
I encourage 1/2 families to enjoy the story together at home by clicking on the link.
I am confident that the students will enjoy reading through the story with you at home.
Bravissimi tutti
