Year 8 Kryal Castle Excursion

Recently, the Year 8 Humanities students travelled to Kryal Castle for an exciting and interactive learning experience connected to their Medieval Europe studies. Throughout the day, students participated in a range of hands-on workshops and activities designed to bring the medieval world to life.
Students explored the feudal system and gained a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of different groups within medieval society. They also learned about the important role of apothecaries in medieval medicine, discovering the different remedies and treatments used during the time period.
As part of the experience, students took part in a leather-making workshop, where they learned about traditional craftsmanship and created their own medieval-inspired items.
They also enjoyed participating in a variety of medieval games and activities, giving them an insight into entertainment and daily life during the Middle Ages.
Another highlight of the excursion was learning about medieval crime and punishment, where students explored the harsh laws and consequences that existed during the period. The excursion provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect their classroom learning with engaging, real-world experiences in a fun and memorable environment.
