Chase Basketball Tournament

Our BSC Basketball Academy recently tested their skills and teamwork against other school academies in the Chase Basketball Academy Tournament.

BSC Academy captain, Mans Brown, reflects on the day below.

The Chase Basketball Academy tournament was held on Wednesday the 13th of May at MSAC. BSC had multiple teams competing, with each team playing three games throughout the day.

Unfortunately I broke my nose before the tournament, so I couldn’t play. But I was offered to help coach from the sideline alongside our coaches, Jordon Timmons and Billy Delichristos.

The day was still a great experience. There was a 3-point contest, a mid-range shooting contest, and a shooting contest against the coaches which Sonny Mitchell and Max Ward competed in it from BSC. These events made the tournament more fun and competitive for everyone involved.

The team I helped coach did quite well – we won our first game against Prahran 42–20, pulling away in the second half. We also won our second game against Auburn 38–22 but we sadly lost a close final game against Norwood 26–28 after they made a comeback late in the match.

I was chosen as captain which meant my job was to lead by example and support the team however I could. The vibes all day were great, everyone got around each other, and I 100% recommend it to everyone thinking about joining.
