Level 3 - Tasty Juice Bar
As a conclusion to our ‘Fruits and Juice 水果和果汁 (shuǐ guǒ hé guǒ zhī)’ unit, students took part in a fun and interactive ‘Juice Bar’ activity. They tasted a variety of fruit juices and practised expressing their personal preferences in Mandarin.
Students were actively engaged in this hands-on learning experience, using their senses of taste and smell alongside listening and viewing. The activity provided a meaningful and memorable way for students to apply their language skills in a real-life context while enjoying the flavours of different fruits.
Level 4 - Chinese Kung Fu Workshop
As part of our Sports and Leisure unit, Year 4 students participated in an exciting Chinese Kung Fu Workshop delivered by an experienced instructor from the Chinese Museum.
Students were introduced to two different styles of Chinese martial arts — Shaolin 少林 (shào lín) and Wing Chun 咏春 (yǒng chūn). Following the instructor’s demonstrations, students enthusiastically joined in to practise a range of Kung Fu movements and learn some basic self-defence skills.
This hands-on cultural experience brought language and culture learning to life, giving students an opportunity to explore the traditions and philosophy behind Chinese martial arts while developing coordination, confidence and an awareness of self-defence.
