A New Chapter

Dear Students, Families and Friends,

After much thought and deliberation I would like to share with you that I have made the decision to retire from Jells Park PS at the end of this year.

This has not been an easy decision, as my 25 years here has been such an important and rewarding part of my life. I have been incredibly fortunate to work alongside wonderful colleagues and to have shared in the learning, growth, achievements and successes of so many students over the years.

Education is a profession that leaves you with countless memories, and I feel very grateful for the opportunities, friendships, challenges and special moments that have shaped my journey here.

While I am looking forward to the next chapter and to having more time for family, especially my grandson, Rory, friends, travel and the things I enjoy, I know I will miss the daily life of the school and, most of all, the people who have made my time here so special.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported, encouraged and inspired me throughout my years at Jells Park PS. This school will forever be in my heart and it has been a privilege to be part of this community - I will always look back on my time here with great affection and pride.

Although there is still a term before I officially finish, I wanted to share my news personally and take this opportunity to say how grateful I am to have been part of such a wonderful school. The Department of Education is aware of my decision and a process to appoint my successor will commence in Term 4.

With sincere thanks and warmest wishes for the future,

Kevin Oakey

Principal

Term 3 wrap up and Thank you

As we come to the end of another successful term, I would like to sincerely thank our school community for your continued support and partnership. This term has been highlighted by our recent Department of Education School Review, which was a highly successful and affirming day with much to celebrate. Our student achievement, engagement and wellbeing data remain strong, reflecting the collective efforts of our students, staff and families. This is an accomplishment of which our entire community can be proud. The School Strategic Plan will be published on our website in the coming months once the endorsement process has been completed by the appropriate parties.

Term 4 is a SunSmart term, a reminder that hats will be required for all outdoor play and learning activities in line with our SunSmart policy. So please ensure your child a school approved, broad brim or legionnaires blue hat to wear.

Its been fantasic to see our students in action this term. From Maths Talent Quest submissions to Dance Aerobics on the Sunshine Coast; our students have once again exceeded expectations in their levels of engagement and connectedness to school, and we commend them for the positive way they conduct themselves every day. I wish all families a safe and enjoyable break and hope you have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the spring sunshine. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for a busy and exciting Term 4.

Have a wonderful holiday break!
