Burnie Student Leader  Article 

This term has been exciting with lots of different events happening at school. 

On the 19th of August we all wore something orange to support the Bullying No Way Day. On the 25th of August our 5/6 classes had the opportunity to have a day out playing netball, soccer, basketball or hockey with other local schools as part of the NWPSSA.

On the 26th of August we had the most imaginative event of the year, the Book Week Parade, where we all came to school in all sorts of costumes pretending to be our favourite book character. There were dragons, doctors, lions, minions and anything else you could imagine!

Selected students from Years 4, 5 and 6 have been excited to start the 2026 FIRST Lego League season. The Burnie team have been working so hard to build the new competition table, design the robot and identify a problem to solve for the innovation project. We will be participating in the regional competition in Burnie during November.

There has also been a Year 5/6 netball team start, the Leighland Legends. A big  thanks to Miss Marshall for organising it.
