A Word from Justin

Good afternoon families of OLSC,

This is the final newsletter for Term 1 - one which has been incredible busy, but also rewarding. Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone in our school community a blessed and holy Easter. As we spend time reflecting on the suffering, death and resurrection of Our Lord, may we too journey from suffering, sadness and anxiety to peace, joy and harmony!

St Mary MacKillop Spirituality Day

On Monday, the staff attended a special spirituality day and pilgrimage to the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre and St Patrick's Cathedral. This was a wonderful learning opportunity, to delve deeper into the story of Australia's first and only saint, and to find inspirations of hope that they could bring back to the OLSC community. 

Aussie of the Month Winners

The Western Zone Catholic Primary Principals' Network Pilgrimage 

Following the Footsteps of St Paul.

Saint Paul is considered the greatest influencer after Jesus in the history of Christianity

and remains one of the more controversial figures celebrated for his work in spreading the early Christian message.  Twenty Seven principals from the Western Region will be taking part in a 16 day pilgrimage that begins on the 26th March to Greece and Turkey.  This pilgrimage aims to provide a profound and enriching experience for participants, by tracing the numerous journeys of St. Paul during his missionary journeys.  

I hope the experience will help to bringing to life the scriptures stories and how we are called to be as Catholic in our world with the mission for the common good. I look forward to sharing more about this experience throughout Term 2.  John Dini and Bec Tardrew will be in the Acting Principals role from 26th March - 22nd April 2025. 

MacKillop Open and Enrolment Dates 

This is important information for all families of a student in Yr 5.  If you are planning on sending your child to MacKillop for secondary school please take note of the dates and times for applications and open day.

4.00pm – 6.30pm

Final Tour at 5.45pm
