Years 3 - 5

The highlight of term so far for our students was attending the Dream City excursion at Casterton Primary School. Students were placed into groups with peers from other schools within our new cluster, providing a wonderful opportunity to build new connections and work collaboratively. Throughout the day, they participated in a range of engaging and innovative activities.

Students were fully immersed in the world of virtual reality, with Fruit Ninja proving to be a clear favourite. They also had the opportunity to control a robotic vehicle, carefully navigating it through a series of obstacles. In addition, students explored electrical engineering by completing a variety of circuit challenges, including turning on a light, making a fan spin and even making a speaker play “Happy Birthday”. It was fantastic to see their curiosity, teamwork and problem solving skills on display.

Students also thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity at lunchtime to interact with students from other schools, forming new friendships while exploring and playing on the variety of playground equipment at Casterton Primary School.

In Sport, our focus this term has been on soccer. Students have been developing their fundamental dribbling and kicking skills through a range of activities and drills. They have practised controlled kicking, stopping the ball and goal scoring, showing great enthusiasm and persistence. It has been wonderful to see their skills and confidence grow over the past few weeks.
