Wellbeing

We are thrilled to kick off Term 3 and welcome a new member to our wellbeing team. Jessie Zeitz, an Art Therapy student from La Trobe University, has joined us and will be available in the Wellbeing Office on Mondays and Thursdays until the end of the year. Please contact the wellbeing team for more information or to book a session with Jessie.

Students and families are invited to take part in the P.A.R.T.Y. Program (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth), an interactive educational event for young people aged 16–25. Held at The Alfred on Tuesday 19 August from 5:30–8:00pm, the program shares powerful real-life stories from clinicians, paramedics, police and trauma survivors. Through live demonstrations and a tour of Australia’s busiest trauma centre, participants will gain a real understanding of the consequences of risky behaviours and the importance of making safer choices. Tickets are $10 and can be booked online.

Upcoming “Dungeons & Dragons” Youth Group

Young people aged 12 to 16 are invited to join the “D&Dzy” — a simplified, fun version of Dungeons & Dragons — held on Saturday 6 September, from 11 am to 3 pm at Jets Studios, Bundoora. The session is open to novices and seasoned players, with opportunities to step into the role of Dungeon Master and dive into imaginative storytelling alongside peers.

Dental Health Week 2025

Reach every S-milestone: Dental Health Week 2025

This year’s DHW will educate parents and caregivers about what they need to do to help their kids ‘reach every S-milestone’, taking them on a journey from birth and first teeth through to first teeth and beyond.

There will also be an emphasis on promoting the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which provides care for children aged 0-17 years who are eligible for Medicare and whose parents/carer/guardian receive an eligible payment from the federal government.

Finally, people will be encouraged to visit Teeth.org.au, an ADA-created and peer-reviewed site offering practical oral healthcare information across a broad range of topics.
