Co-Curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

It was great to see so many boys in attendance at our Winter Sport Presentation Evening. The night was a nice way to celebrate the success of not only individuals and teams, but our winter sport programs overall. A special thank you to all staff who attended and contributed to the running of the evening.
On Monday 21 September, the Junior School will have all sport photos taken, both summer and winter sport squads and those boys that represented at IPSHA, NSWCIS or State level. All photos will be taken during the school day, and the timetable has been placed in every classroom. A few reminders for the day:
Winter College uniform to be worn to and from school.
Boys need to change in class into their Saturday sport playing uniform for the photos. This will be done at Recess or Period 3 if teachers allow.
Arrive at the Hall five minutes before your photo time, line up shortest to tallest.
Boots are to be worn for winter sports, please bring your boots with you and put them on at the hall.
No mouthguards, shinpads or head gear are required for photos.
Squads are to wear black supporter’s polo for photos.
IPSHA, CIS and NSW Representatives are to wear their representative uniform for photos, otherwise black supporters’ polo for photos.
Please be aware that rugby photos are the last scheduled photos on the day. The final photo is scheduled for 3:10 PM, right on dismissal, some boys may be late due to photos. Families may need to make alternate arrangements for pick on this day.
In Term 4, Junior School PE lessons will focus on swimming. Boys in the Junior School will need to bring their College swimmers, towel and goggles, along with their PE uniform for all practical lessons in Term 4. Boys can wear their swimmers under their College uniform to school on their swimming days, however, must get changed into dry underwear at the conclusion of the lesson. It is optional for boys to wear a rash shirt. If they do choose to wear one, please make sure it is plain blue, white or black. Once changed for their swimming practical lessons, boys may wear crocs or thongs for the walk to the pool. They must still bring their runners with them, however, in case the pool is unavailable on the day.
This will be my last week of Term 3, as I will be taking some long service leave. I will return to the College in Week 3, Term 4. While I am away, the day-to-day management of Junior School Co-Curricular activities will be managed by the Head of Senior Sport, Mr Tim Donlan and the Assistant Head of Sport, Mr Brett Davidson. Should you have any need to contact the College regarding Junior School Co-curricular enquiries during this time, please contact either Mr Donlan and Mr Davidson who will be able to assist you.
I hope that everyone in the Junior School has a safe and relaxing break and return well rested. I wish all our teams all the very best for the first two rounds of summer sport in Term 4 (Rounds 7 and 8) and look forward to hearing about your successes.
John Locke
Head of Co-curricular Stage 3
