SPC Sport: Winter Wrap-Up and Summer Sport Ahead

With winter sport now officially wrapped up, there is plenty happening across SPC Sport as we look ahead to the final weeks of Term 3 and the start of our summer sport season.

A huge thank you to all of our students, parents/carers and staff for their efforts and support at last week’s Winter Sport Presentation Nights.

The evenings provided a fantastic opportunity to bring the winter sport season to a close and, most importantly, celebrate the commitment, effort and achievements of our students across the College.

It was wonderful to see so many students, families, coaches and staff come together across the nights. While the results and premierships are certainly worth celebrating, the nights were also a great reminder of the broader role sport plays in the life of the College and the experiences our students share with their teammates and coaches.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Presentation Nights such a fitting way to finish the winter season.

Our athletics teams are in action this week at the ISA Athletics Championships.

We wish all of our athletes the very best for the Championships and look forward to seeing how they perform on the day.

Results and highlights from the ISA Athletics Championships will feature in next week’s article.

With summer sport training and trials now underway, all summer sport programs should have confirmed their training arrangements for the remainder of Term 3.

Students involved in teams playing trial games during Term 3 or throughout the upcoming school holidays should have received information from their relevant MIC regarding those fixtures and any associated arrangements.

Looking further ahead, the confirmed Term 4 training schedule will be released before the end of Term 3, so students and families have plenty of time to plan.

Following the school holidays, training for all summer sports will recommence on Tuesday, 13 October.

There is plenty to look forward to as we transition from winter into summer sport, and we look forward to seeing our students back on the fields, courts, tracks and pools in Term 4.
