Year 10 Examinations: Week 2, Term 4
Year 10 students will undertake their yearly examinations in Week 2 of Term 4. This week, students and families will receive the examination timetable, along with the examination rules and expectations.
This examination period is an important milestone as students prepare to transition into Stage 6. It provides an opportunity for our boys to consolidate their Stage 5 learning while gaining valuable experience in applying and refining their examination skills.
All Year 10 students should now have received their pre-examination task information outlining the skills, knowledge, and understanding that will be assessed. Any student who is unsure how to revise or prepare effectively for these examinations is encouraged to speak with their class teacher as soon as possible.
I trust our boys will approach these examinations with diligence and commitment as they prepare to commence their Stage 6 studies.
Year 11 Yearly Examinations, Extension Subjects and Discontinuing Subjects
Year 11 students may submit an orange form if they wish to discontinue a unit of study for Year 12 although it is expected they will review all of their marks for Year 11 before doing so. Orange forms will only be considered by staff once all marks are available and from Wednesday 16 September.
Due to NESA rules, students should expect to commence Term 4 in all of their classes from Year 11 and they will be notified when they can discontinue any units of study.
Year 11 students may submit online expressions to undertake an extension unit in Year 12 up until Wednesday 16 September. The form to do so is available on the Year 11 CANVAS page.

Outstanding HSC Drama Success: Multiple OnSTAGE Nominations
The Performing Arts Faculty is delighted to celebrate an outstanding achievement by our 2026 Year 12 Drama class, who have received multiple nominations for possible inclusion in OnSTAGE, the prestigious annual showcase of exemplary HSC Drama major works across New South Wales (NSW).
Students Noah C, Declan G and William T were nominated for their Group Performance, The Phone, the Witch and the Cauldron, while Declan also received an individual nomination for his Individual Performance, Exit the King.
These nominations are a remarkable recognition of the creativity, skill, dedication and perseverance demonstrated by our students throughout their HSC Drama studies. Each year, only a small number of performances across NSW are nominated by HSC examiners for consideration in OnSTAGE, making this achievement particularly significant.
The HSC Drama performance projects require students to devise, rehearse and refine sophisticated theatrical works that demonstrate a high level of artistic and technical expertise. Over many months, students engage in intensive creative development, extensive rehearsal processes, critical reflection and performance refinement. They are challenged to communicate complex ideas to audiences while showcasing excellence in characterisation, movement, voice, dramatic structure and theatrical style.
What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is that it comes from one of our smallest Drama cohorts in recent years. Despite their size, this group has consistently demonstrated extraordinary commitment, collaboration and creative ambition, supporting one another throughout the demanding HSC process while striving for excellence in their own work.
These nominations are a testament not only to the talent of but also to the resilience, courage and passion for theatre of the class. Their willingness to take creative risks, embrace feedback and dedicate countless hours to refining their performances has culminated in a truly outstanding result.
We congratulate these young men on this exceptional achievement.
