Deputy Principal

As we approach the end of another busy and rewarding term, I find myself reflecting on the many highlights of the past months and, in particular, our Year 12 cohort, who will graduate next week.
Graduation is always a significant milestone, and with it comes a mixture of emotions. I suspect many of our Year 12 students are feeling both excitement and sadness. They are undoubtedly ready for the next chapter of their lives and eager to embrace the opportunities that await them. At the same time, they will miss the daily routines, friendships, and sense of belonging that have been such an important part of their journey at St Patrick's College. The bonds they have formed with one another, their teachers and the wider College community are not easily left behind.
It has been a privilege to work alongside this cohort throughout their time at SPC. They have contributed enormously to the life of the College and have distinguished themselves across a remarkable range of pursuits. Whether through their achievements in the classroom, their commitment to service learning and outreach initiatives, their involvement in debating, their performances in music and drama, or their talents on the sporting field, they have consistently demonstrated dedication, generosity, resilience and a willingness to embrace every opportunity available to them. Their readiness to serve others and contribute positively to the wider community reflects the values we seek to foster in every young man who graduates from St Patrick's College.
A particular strength of this group has been the quality of its leadership. Our College Captain, Francesco, together with Vice Captains Marco and Ryan, have led with authenticity, humility and purpose. Their ability to bring their peers together, foster a strong sense of unity and encourage participation across all aspects of College life has been truly inspiring. They have modelled what leadership at SPC looks like and have left a lasting legacy for those who follow.
On a personal note, I have especially enjoyed teaching my Year 12 Economics class this year. They have challenged me to think deeply, asked thoughtful and sometimes difficult questions, and consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic. Watching their growth over the course of the year has been immensely rewarding, and I have no doubt that each of them will go on to achieve great things beyond the College gates.
Next week, our graduates will officially become the newest members of the SPC Old Boys community. While their time as students is drawing to a close, their connection to the College will endure. We look forward to following their future successes and welcoming them back as alumni in the years ahead.
As they prepare for their Higher School Certificate examinations, I wish each member of the Class of 2026 every success. May they approach the weeks ahead with confidence, knowing that they have prepared well and that the entire SPC community is behind them. I also look forward to catching up with many of them at our HSC Results Barbeque in December, where we can celebrate the completion of this important chapter together.
To our graduating Year 12 students, thank you for the contribution you have made to St Patrick's College. We are proud of all you have achieved, proud of the young men you have become, and excited to see where your journey takes you next. Good luck in the HSC and beyond. You will always have a place here at SPC.
Finally, as this will be my last Especean before commencing renewal leave, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for your ongoing support throughout the year. It has been a privilege to share in the life of our College community, and I look forward to returning refreshed and renewed. Renewal leave offers a valuable opportunity for reflection, growth and renewal, and I am grateful for the chance to take this time before returning to continue serving our community.
During my absence, Mr Alexandros Sinadinos will be Acting Deputy Principal. Alex is a highly respected member of our Leadership Team who brings dedication, wisdom and a deep commitment to the College. I know our community will be in capable hands and very well supported during this time.
