Grade 5 News

Week 5 was certainly a highlight of the year as we headed off to CYC Phillip Island for our Grade 5 Camp. It was wonderful to see the students embrace every challenge, try new experiences and, most importantly, demonstrate our school values throughout the entire camp.

We were incredibly proud of the way our students behaved. They showed respect, responsibility, resilience and teamwork, supporting one another and encouraging their classmates to have a go. Their positive attitudes and beautiful manners were noticed by staff throughout the camp, and they should be very proud of themselves!

There were plenty of exciting activities to keep everyone busy, including archery, the giant swing, flying fox, canoeing and team rescue. While some activities pushed students outside their comfort zones, it was fantastic to see them encouraging each other and celebrating one another's achievements. The teamwork and resilience displayed by the students was truly fantastic.

Of course, camp wasn't all about the daytime activities! We enjoyed a movie night, which was a great opportunity for everyone to relax and spend time together. One of the biggest highlights was our visit to see the Little Penguins returning to shore. The students were fascinated watching the penguins make their way up the beach, and it was a very special experience to share together.

We would like to congratulate all of our Grade 5 students for making camp such a memorable experience. Their behaviour, enthusiasm and willingness to participate made us incredibly proud!

We have also had the pleasure of watching The Lion King performance, and WOW! What an amazing production! A huge congratulations to all of the students involved. Their hard work, confidence and dedication certainly paid off. It was wonderful to see so many of our students shine on stage, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed to making the performance such a success.

Our Family Life lessons are also going wonderfully. Students have been actively participating in discussions and have been asking some thoughtful, mature and wonderful questions. It has been fantastic to see students engaging respectfully with the topics and creating a safe environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their ideas.

And finally, we are looking forward to MAD Day next week! The students are already very excited, and we can't wait to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the day together.

It has been a busy and exciting time in Grade 5, and we are so proud of the way our students continue to grow, challenge themselves and uphold our school values. We are looking forward to everything still to come!
