Calrossy Sport

There has been plenty happening in sport at Calrossy in recent weeks, with the rugby season now underway. The teams have had mixed results in the opening two rounds, with the 14's and 16's girls both enjoying victory in the most recent game. Meantime the Open girls have had one win and a loss in their season openers. Our Open Boys put in a valiant effort against the Farrer Firsts in their season opener but were unable to match their opponents. Meantime, the U14 Boys have won both their first and second round games, with our U16 Boys still looking for their first win in 2024.

 

 

 

Calrossy had several students playing in HRIS Hockey in AICES in Newcastle. The following players were selected in AICES Teams.

 

  • Lyla Davidson, Hannah O'Brien, Ella Tanna, Charlotte Williams, Olivia Coombes, Eva Hayes, Edward Bates, Thomas Holmes, Max Brown (Shadow).

Angela Emery, Molly Carey, Megan Carr and Howard Mackenzie also represented in the HRIS Teams.

 

 

It's a big week or two for Calrossy Football with the Under 15 Bill Turner sides in action in recent days. The Boys had a tough loss against an in form Farrer side, while our

girls won their first fixture v Narrabri High 13-0 on Friday and will play Carinya in the next round.

 

 

The Boys HRIS Opens Football team is heading to Maitland today. Junior School Netball teams will be competing in the Netball NSW Schools Cup this Wednesday in Tamworth.

 

Five secondary swimmers represented in the CIS Swimming Championships recently. They were Baxter Knapman, Oliver Pearson, Sophie Rindfleish, James Ryan and Chelsea Smith.

 

 

Following HRIS Cross Country the names have been released for CIS. The Junior School students are Ben Fisher, Brooke Crosby, Theart Nel, Callum Lockwood, Primrose Hatfield and Jacob Drever.

 

The successful Secondary cross country athletes are Olivia Coombes, Ella Fittler, Jasmine Harris, Isabel O'Connell, Charley Pickens.

 

 

 

Don't forget this Thursday is the Secondary Athletics Carnival. Students are asked to arrive at the  Athletics track by 8.30am. Buses to the track from school will be available for regional bus students.  Students competing in the 1500m and Javelin events will need to at the track earlier, with these events to be held at 7.45am. Roll marking will commence at 8.30am. Carnival expected to conclude at 2.30pm.

 

The Junior School Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday 24th May.
