Staff Interview - Jameel Marashli

Staff Interview - Jameel Marashli  Year 6 teacher

How long have you worked at BNPS?

8 Years in the classroom, 9 years at BNPS. I was a CRT and worked at OSHC for half of 2018.

What inspired you to be a teacher?

My Year 6 teacher, Cam Cook, helped me through some tough times in my final year of primary school. His care and attention gave me confidence and self-belief. This helped me a lot and now is my goal for me as a teacher, to help my students when they need it.

If you weren't a teacher, what career would have you pursued?

I love design. So, 3D modelling, graphic design or something creative.

What is your favourite thing to do on weekends?

Hang with friends and unwind from the whirlwind that is primary school teaching.

If you could go on a holiday anywhere in the World, where would you go?

I have been lucky to travel to a few places in the past few years. My bucket list destination, I have yet to tick off, is Greenland.

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

If most people may see me walking down the street, and I don't wave at them, that is not me!  That could be 1 of 2 of my identical triplet brothers.

What recently made you smile?

My family dog, who I don't see often!

What would you like to say to your class?

The only thing we can control for certain is ourselves. So, be the best you, you can be, and everything else will work out.
