Careers

Hello Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
As we head into the final week for the term, I would like to wish all students and families a peaceful holiday. Next term will be another busy term with subject selections in the first four weeks of term, industry tours, excursions, another round of white card training as well as work experience for students interested. I also encourage all year 12 students to make use of the careers office for transition planning meetings.
SAFEWORK White Card
Construction Safety Courses – Wait list for Term 3
Any students who wish to be added to the White Card wait list are encouraged to come and see me in the careers office as I am hoping to confirm dates for another round of courses to be held in late term three. The courses are completely subsidised by the Department of Education and so there is no cost for the course itself. However, the SafeWork Licence Card does have a cost of $30 for each student.
*All students will need to obtain a Unique Student Identifier Number to participate. I can assist students to obtain this online but will require them to bring in a photo of their Medicare card to obtain this USI. Or students can obtain this themselves by accessing the following website:

Year 12 Careers Pathway Interviews & Uni Entry
University Early Entry are open for all Year 12 students
We have commenced our Year 12 Careers Transition Interviews this term and I encourage all Year 12 students to book in for their careers planning interview with me. These comprehensive interviews take a minimum of two lessons and are tailored to each student to ensure they have a clear plan and information for their transition to post school life.
Students who are looking at university pathways are encouraged to organise their interview as soon as possible so they can have guidance on the various early entry processes offered by each university and how they can respond to the specific requirements of each university and course they aspire to study. If parents would like to attend these meetings, they are welcome to reach out to the careers office to book an appointment after school hours. All parents and guardians are sent a summary of the meetings with their child if they cannot attend in person.
All Careers Events
All these opportunities are always announced to students at our morning assemblies, year meetings and in our newsletters. Any student or parent who has any questions in relation to these activities are welcome to contact the careers office for further information.
