Principals Message

As Term 2 draws to a close, I am delighted to reflect on the many positive experiences and achievements we have shared as a school community. Our formal assembly this week will be a highlight of the term, providing us with a chance to celebrate students who have shown outstanding dedication to their education. These assemblies are not only a tradition at our school, but an important way to acknowledge the daily efforts of our learners—whether it’s commitment in the classroom, resilience in tackling challenges, or participation in extracurricular activities.
At the assembly, special recognition will be given to students who have consistently demonstrated positive attitudes towards learning and school life. Teachers have nominated students based on their academic improvement, leadership qualities, teamwork, and willingness to support others. This is an opportunity for the entire school to applaud their hard work and reflect on the values that make our community strong.
I would also like to remind families that students in Years 7 to 10 have recently received their Semester One reports. These reports provide comprehensive feedback, covering academic progress, and attitudes to learning. Reports are a valuable resource for students and families, offering a snapshot of strengths and areas for improvement. I encourage families to sit down together and discuss the report, focusing on successes as well as setting goals for future learning. These conversations can help students develop self-awareness and motivation and empower them to take active steps to improve or sustain their results.
Looking ahead, our Parent Teacher Afternoon on July 1 is an important event in our school calendar. Families will have the opportunity to book time with teachers to discuss student progress in detail. Teachers will be available to answer questions, offer advice, and work collaboratively with families to support each student’s individual learning journey. Preparing for these discussions by reviewing the semester report in advance can help families make the most of their meeting, allowing everyone to share feedback and plan strategies for success in Semester Two.
As we wrap up the term, I want to thank our staff for their ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and achievement, and our families for their continued support. I hope all students enjoy a safe and happy holiday break, taking the time to rest and recharge. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Tuesday, July 21, ready for another busy term of learning and growth.
