Dear parents, caregivers and community members,

It’s hard to believe that the end of Term 4 is approaching and there has certainly been some challenging recent weather events that have impacted on many people across the broader community. It has been an extremely busy last few weeks with a number of significant celebratory school events and as a school community we have continued to maintain a strong focus on quality teaching and engaged learning as our core priorities.

Term 1 2026

I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue as Acting Principal at Toogoolawah State High School for Term 1, 2026. This is an outstanding school and I feel very privileged to be able to continue working closely with students, staff, parents and community moving forward into next year.

Year 12 Graduation and Formal

The graduating class of 2025 were acknowledged at a wonderful Graduation ceremony on the evening on Thursday 20 November. The Year 12 students then attended their final assembly at school on their final day on Friday November 21 and then attended their Formal that evening. I would like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge Mrs Kruger for all of her leadership and organisation not only with the recent significant school events, but for the outstanding work she has done as the Head of Year with our 2025 graduates.

Year 10 and 11 last day

Our Year 10 and 11 students finish their school year on Friday November 28. We wish all students the very best for the upcoming holiday period and a safe and relaxing break.

Years 7-9 end of school year

Year 7, 8 and 9 students finish school for the year on Friday 12 December. There are a range of activities that have been organised for students in week 10 including the Year 8 camp, work experience opportunities for students in Year 9, and a combination of at school activities for Year 7 students and excursions. The end of the school year will be a very enjoyable time for the students and I thank all staff who have been actively involved the organisation of the various planned events and activities.

Facilities update

The tuckshop upgrade is progressing very well and is tracking toward completion within the anticipated timeline. The school community is looking forward to seeing the completed project moving forward and being able to access the renovated tuckshop space. Candice and her team have done an amazing job throughout all of Term 4 in the temporary tuckshop and we thank them very much for continuing to provide a wonderful service for students and staff.

Christmas and New Year

On behalf of the Toogoolawah State High School community, I wish all our families the very best for the upcoming Christmas and New Year period. Please stay safe and I trust you all have a wonderful time with family and friends in the weeks ahead.

Kind regards

Phil Reid
