Ukulele

This week, our 3-6 students finished up with their ukulele lessons for the term. There are definitely some budding musicians among the different classes, including some singers and drummers to go along with our ukulele players.

My main aim for our musicians was to work towards being able to play four chords (shown below). When played together as C-G-Am-F, you can play hundreds, if not thousands of different songs. Most students were comfortable with C, Am and F, and some had become comfortable with G.

We've played along with different songs from Kulea Ukulele, with the videos posted below. If you've got a budding musician at home who'd be keen to get their own ukulele to keep playing, you can get entry-level ukuleles from Big W or Kmart for around $30, or better-quality ukuleles from Crossroads Music in Ballarat starting from around $70.
