Remembrance Day
Twenty-six cadets participated in a solemn Remembrance Day service to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our nation alongside members of 315 Army Cadet Unit. Once again cadets formed the Catafalque Party, a position of great honor and responsibility, demonstrating exemplary commitment and respect for this significant occasion. Their bearing and discipline reflected the high standards of their training. The Remembrance Day service provided our cadets with a meaningful opportunity to connect with military traditions and reflect on the sacrifices of previous generations.

Cadet Courses Camp Puckapunyal
On Sunday, 16 cadets headed to Puckapunyal for the Cadet Courses; leadership and specialist. Our cadets will be challenged in each of the 3 leadership courses, JLC, SLC and CWC. These courses provide the cadets with opportunities to grow in their leadership and enhance their cadets skills. Two of the senior cadets are attending the specialist weapons course.

Introducing our 2026 Leaders

ADJT Ciaran Behrendt
My name is Ciaran Behrendt, I hold the position of the 2026 Monivae College Army Cadet Unit Adjutant. I have been in cadets since Year 8 (2022), enjoying every camp and cadet session. Cadets has given me amazing opportunities and leadership skills which I intend to use next year. I hope to make our cadet unit connected and knowledgeable, both for the new incoming cadets as well as my fellow senior cadets. I wish to see our cadets become the best version of themselves by encouraging them to embrace the cadet values of Courage, Initiative, Teamwork, Service, Respect and Excellence.
RSM Seamus Byron
My name is Seamus Byron and I am privileged to be the 2026 RSM for the cadet unit. Much of my role includes discipline, dress and bearing. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the cadets having attended specialist and promotional leadership courses at Puckapunyal and with Ivanhoe Grammar. In 2026, I plan to work closely with ADJT Ciaran Behrendt and XO Geneva Kamp to ensure that the cadets have a positive experience learning new skills and building their resilience while having fun.
SNR CUO (XO) Geneva Kamp
I’m Geneva Kamp, and I am excited to take on the role of the first Senior CUO at Monivae College Army Cadet unit for 2026. I have been doing cadets for 4 years now and I have loved every second of it, the ups and the downs, yes it can be stressful, but I can’t have imagined the past 4 years of school without cadets being a part of it. Being a cadet is an amazing experience, and I have met so many new people from all over Victoria and South Australia. Cadets is just such a great experience and I am really excited to introduce it to our Year 8s for 2026 and hopefully help them to realise why all our senior cadets love it so much.
I would like to thank Liam Keable for his 4 years of service to the unit and his exceptional leadership as ADJT25. Liam, the RSM, and the senior cadets have worked hard to set up an exciting program for the cadets in 2025. I am looking forward to working with the incoming senior leadership group and know that they will continue to make cadets a place of fun, learning, challenges and adventure.
