Therapy Team

Some of our 2026 highlights so far:
Music Therapy:
Under the theme of "Showcase Your School", we ended education week with a whole school disco. It was filled with songs, awards, colourful lights, dancing and even a few performances. A high point for everyone at Belmore was when we received a very special performance from Erica "Shawn Mendes" Brown. Our students loved playing with the streamers and moving around the space together. A big thank you to everyone who helped put it together!
Physiotherapy:
Last Term students participated in Tennis and Soccer activities in their Physical Education (PE) sessions supported by Steph and Ash. Some students also went on an excursion to a local tennis court and got competitive with their peers.
This Term we are enjoying athletics and gymnastics. We also had so much fun on our Sports Day!
Occupational Therapy:
Penny has enjoyed introducing Hartley Knows Handwriting with a group of junior school students. Emily's highlight was working with PLC3 having fun testing out a range of cooking recipes and working on measurement of ingredients.
Speech Pathology:
Emily and Lydia have been having lots of fun! They have been supporting students in maximising communication, student voice, and literacy skills. This has involved Little Learners Love Literacy resources, play-based activities, quests, magic potion making, rhyme raps, and even drama classes. Authentic integration of students AAC throughout every program is at an all time high.
Aquatics:
It’s been a great start to swimming this year at Belmore. We’ve been lucky to welcome Jake Cosentino to the hydrotherapy team as a program support ES, who’s been excited to join Belmore community. Meanwhile, our senior program support ES Elysia Kennedy has been working hard gaining her Austswim accreditation to better support our students. We heard lots about how “funny” and “good” swimming has and how they have enjoyed the “warm” pool, even over the summer months. We’re looking forward to many more smiles and splashes in the year to come.
