Principal Report

Term 2

The first half of Term 2 has been filled with engaging learning opportunities and exciting events across our school. The students enjoyed participating in Education Week activities, celebrating learning and community connections through a range of fun and meaningful experiences.

Our ASDAN Café project continues to grow, with students developing valuable hospitality, communication and teamwork skills, while classes have been consolidating the Learners Love Literacy program to strengthen literacy skills and confidence. Students have also enjoyed a variety of excursions that supported classroom learning and encouraged independence and social development.

A highlight of the term was our whole school Sports Carnival, where students enthusiastically participated, demonstrated great sportsmanship and had lots of fun. Alongside these special events, students have continued to engage positively in our core learning and wellbeing programs, making the first half of the term both busy and rewarding.

Industrial Action - Potential impact on Semester 1 Reports

We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.

The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments may not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.

We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher interviews scheduled for week 4 and 5 of term 3, or, as always, you can contact us at reception on belmore.sch@education.vic.gov.au  to arrange a meeting with your child’s teacher.

Mother's Day afternoon Tea

Our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the special people in our students’ lives. Inspired by a traditional high tea, the afternoon was filled with delicious treats, meaningful conversations and plenty of smiles as families spent time together. It was wonderful to see our community come together to share such a warm and memorable occasion, and we thank everyone who attended and helped make the event so special.

Education Support Personnel Celebration

Last week, we proudly celebrated our Education Support Personnel and recognised the invaluable contribution they make to our school community each day. From supporting students in the classroom and in a variety of programs across the school, their dedication, care and professionalism help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all at Belmore. Staff enjoyed a special afternoon tea as a small token of appreciation for the outstanding work our Education Support team does throughout the year.

I would like to say a big thank you to our friends at PAHL for funding a brand-new walker for one of our students. We are so grateful for PAHL’s kindness and ongoing commitment to supporting our students and school community. Their generosity helps create opportunities for our students to thrive, and we truly appreciate the positive impact they continue to make.
