Student News SLC 5

Students in SLC 5 have had a busy and exciting term so far filled with learning, discovery and fun experiences together. In Maths, we have been learning about the concepts of “full” and “empty” through pretend picnic activities, and sensory activities such as filling containers with liquid, rice and other materials. We have also been developing our understanding of “big” and “little” through hands-on games, sensory activities and obstacle courses in the hall.

As part of our Whole School Student Survey, students had the opportunity to share how they feel about different aspects of school. This important activity helps students have a voice and allows us to learn more about what they enjoy and value at school.

In Science, our Integrated Unit “Let’s Get Moving” has been full of exciting experiments and investigations. Students have explored push and pull forces, magnetism, gravity and light through practical activities and play-based learning experiences.

SLC 5 has also loved participating in the many special events across the school this term. Students enjoyed showing teamwork and enthusiasm on Sports Day, and taking part in the many games and sports organised for the day to earn points for their house. Our class celebrated the important people in their lives during our Mother’s Day celebration and enjoyed music and dancing together at the whole school Disco for Education Week.

We are very proud of all the learning and achievements in SLC 5 this term!
