History: First Contact (Early Colonisation of Australian to 1800)

Our focus for Year 3 for Term 1 is Australian History. Students will investigate the late 18th century to explore the pivotal events and diverse perspectives that shaped Australia between 1750 and 1800.
By examining both primary and secondary sources, they will investigate the causes and consequences of early colonisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, new arrivals, and the natural environment. Through this process, they will develop critical thinking skills to understand why historical interpretations differ and how various symbols, emblems, and contributions from people of all backgrounds remain significant today.
