We celebrate with Ha Yoon Kim (Year 7) who, following an audition, has been selected to perform as a violin soloist with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in November.

In addition, she has been accepted into the Australian Youth Orchestra Symphonists program, and will be travelling to Canberra this April to participate.

Congratulations, Ha Yoon!

Adam selected for Australia’s top Maths Summer School

Over the summer holidays, Adam Nelson (Year 12), was accepted into the National Mathematics Summer School - a prestigious, invite-only program for the discovery and development of mathematically gifted and talented high school students from all over Australia. Adam travelled to Canberra in January and recaps his experience below:

Attending the National Mathematics Summer School was an incredible experience that deepened my appreciation for mathematics beyond the school curriculum. The unique and interesting maths we were taught there was unlike any I had seen before, across projective geometry, number theory, and Latin squares. The specific focus on pure mathematics really opened my eyes to potential career paths available in higher mathematics. Additionally, meeting all of the extremely talented other students from around Australia was amazing, and collaborating with and working on difficult math problems with them really pushed me to think of maths in new ways.

Overall, it was a great experience that gave me many new connections in Australian maths world, and greatly extended my mathematical abilities.

Our Senior School Interhouse Swimming Carnival took place at the Perth High Performance Centre last week, bringing together students, staff, Old Saints and parents for a day filled with energy and plenty of friendly competition. The pool deck was buzzing with House spirit, teamwork and cheering all day long.

What made the day truly special was the way our students got involved—whether they were racing for points, swimming for fun or getting creative in the team games. With a mix of competitive events and novelty races, there were plenty of moments that reminded us why this carnival is such a favourite on the College calendar.

A huge thank you to our SHPE staff and volunteers who kept everything running smoothly, and to the students who participated with such enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to Durack for taking home the Spirit Award and to O'Connor for claiming the overall trophy!

Information regarding the ACC Swimming Carnival will be sent to those students involved.

Last Friday’s Pasar Malam Twilight Markets were a vibrant celebration of community and culture across our College. Families, students, staff and friends came together to enjoy an evening filled with delicious food, lively entertainment, games and activities, colourful stalls and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The event once again highlighted the strength of our College community, and we especially thank the P&F and the volunteers who generously gave their time to help the night run smoothly and safely!

Events like Pasar Malam remind us how fortunate we are to belong to such a connected and supportive community, and we’re already looking forward to next year.
