Junior School

Parent Reps required for 2B, 4B, 5A and 5B
A class or Year Group Rep (rep) plays an important role in fostering a spirit of community support amongst ASC parents. The role is a wonderful way to be involved in All Saints’ College life and create relationships with your year groups. Reps assist with:
- Organising social events for parents in their year group;
- Organising family events in their year group;
- Assist in sharing important P&F information, key dates, events etc in your Year Group WhatsApp chats;
- Assist in communications between teaching staff and your class / year group e.g. reminders about class and year group schedules / activities (mainly for Junior School)
- Welcoming new families to the school and help them connect with the year group’s communication channels and answering any questions to help them settle into the school.
There are currently no Parent Reps for the following classes:
- Year 2B Hannah Godlonton
- Year 4B Charlie Stapleton
- Year 5A Jessica Johnston
- Year 5B Caitlin Moore
If you are a parent in any of these years and would like to assist by being a Parent Rep, please contact Allison Pooley from the P&F via email allipooley@gmail.com
Year 3 River School
On Thursday 19 February, Year 3 students enjoyed their first River School visit for the year, which was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and their surroundings. Students spent time exploring the environment and noticing the sights, sounds and textures of the natural world.
They recorded their observations in their journals, carefully documenting their discoveries and reflecting on their experiences. Students also shared Stories of a Special Place, encouraging them to think about what makes the river meaningful and unique.
It was a calm and engaging session that sparked curiosity, creativity and a deeper appreciation for the natural environment.
Linewize
In the Junior School, students in Years 2 - 6 are supported through our ongoing efforts to ensure they are safe online. As part of this commitment, we utilise Linewize Filtering for all school-owned and managed devices to support student learning and wellbeing. This initiative helps reduce online distractions during class time and enables designated staff to identify and respond to any at‑risk online activity in a timely and caring manner.
Linewize Filter helps keep students focused by blocking access to content that is against College policy. When a defined keyword or category is triggered, Filter raises an alert so that key staff can respond to provide appropriate support and guidance.
What data is collected
On College‑managed devices, Linewize records online activity necessary to trigger filtering alerts (e.g., the event type/category, the user on the device, and the time the event occurred). Data is used only to support teaching, learning and student wellbeing in line with our ICT Acceptable Use and Privacy policies.
PULSE
In the Junior School, staff monitor the wellbeing of students daily through a range of classroom practices and routines, responding with appropriate support when needed. For Year 5 and 6, we are also utilising the Pulse check in software. Pulse is a program that helps schools identify students who need support and provides an opportunity for students to speak up if they need help, enabling targeted and rapid interventions where necessary. The software was implemented in 2025, and students in Years 5 and 6 will continue to complete a weekly check in on Pulse throughout 2026.
Key benefits from Pulse include:
Regular Student Check-ins
Pulse offers fun and easy check-ins that encourage students to reflect on their mental, social and physical wellbeing by answering evidence-based questions.
Reaching Vulnerable Students
The program provides students with a safe and accessible way to reach out for help, starting with a simple question: "How are you feeling today?"
Help from a Trusted Adult
When a student flags that they need help, Pulse will connect them with a trusted teacher, school leader or administrator of their choosing.
We believe that Pulse will be a valuable tool in supporting our students' wellbeing and ensuring they have access to the help they need. For more information you can watch the video here: Click here
Questions or feedback
Please contact David Taylor, Assistant Director of Junior School (Wellbeing) or Sarah Moore, Technology Pedagogy Coach if you have any questions or feedback regarding our online safety programs.
2026 Swimming Carnival Updates
In 2026, our Years 4–6 Interhouse Swimming Carnival will move off campus to Riverton Leisureplex, providing students with access to a 50m pool and a venue that better supports competition, participation, and House spirit. The program will include both championship races and a series of House‑based team activities, ensuring every student has meaningful opportunities to be involved.
A highlight of the day will be our inclusive afternoon team games, designed for all levels of swimming confidence. Using modified challenges and appropriate aids, these activities will focus on fun, teamwork, and the development of important water skills and safety awareness. This change also supports a smoother transition into Senior School, where carnivals are held off campus, and helps prepare students for future interschool swimming opportunities.
The full program can be found on MyASC.
For Year 3, swimming will look different in 2026. Along with Term 1 in‑term lessons, students will participate in swimming during Term 4 PE classes, followed by a Year 3 participation carnival. This introductory event will include fun rotations and team games designed to build confidence and familiarise students with carnival routines ahead of future Years 4–6 carnivals.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to refine our programs to prioritise confidence, inclusion, and safe aquatic participation.
