Grandparent’s Day 

Grandparents Day in Australia, celebrated on Sunday, October 26, 2025, is a day to recognize and thank grandparents for their contributions to families and communities. The day's meaning involves celebrating the bond between generations by sharing knowledge, traditions, and experiences, and by showing appreciation for the care, support, and wisdom that older people provide.  

Next Friday, October 24th, we will be celebrating Grandparent's Day at St. Joseph’s.  

Grandparents and special friends are invited to join us for assembly at 9am and then to visit the classrooms until 10am.  

Mission Month 

October is Mission Month, a special time in the Catholic calendar dedicated to learning about and supporting global missionary work. This year’s theme, “Missionaries of Hope Among All Peoples,” encourages us to reflect on hope and unity across communities.  

To mark this occasion, we will be holding Mission Week stalls on Friday, October 31st, to raise funds for Catholic Mission in Australia.  

These stalls will run from 10:30am until recess, and each item or activity will be available for 50 cents.  

Each learning area will be hosting a stall or activity:  

• FLC/JLC (Foundation – Year 2) – Lolly Bags  

• MLC (Year 3 - Year 4) – Cake Stall (Cupcakes, Rumballs, Honey Joys)  

• Year 5 – Guess the Staff Baby Photo  

• Year 6 – Chocolate Toss  

• Wellbeing – Lucky Dip Stalls  

Date: Friday 31st October  

Time: 10:30am until recess.  

ACTION REQUIRED:  

 To help make this day a success, we kindly ask for your support with the following donations:  

• FLC/JLC – Lolly Bags: Please send one large bag of lollies (no chocolate, please) to your child’s teacher by Tuesday, October 29th. These will be made into smaller bags by staff.  

• MLC – Cake Stall (No nuts please): Please provide a batch of cupcakes, rumballs, or honey joys on the day of the event.  

• Year 6 – Chocolate Toss (No nuts please): Please send one bag of individually wrapped chocolates (e.g., Freddo Frogs, Milky Ways) to your child’s class.

Reconciliation 

Today during Grade 3 Mass, Sofia and Vienna celebrated their First Reconciliation. Congratulations on taking this significant step in your faith journey.

Mercy Award 

The ‘Stewardship’ award will be presented during assembly on Friday October 24th. 

Our next award for weeks 4-6 will be ‘Integrity’.
