Foundation Learning Community

Welcome back to another term of learning in Foundation! 

It will be a very busy term with many events to look forward to. 

In Literacy, the students have been learning the digraphs, th, wh, oo, ng and ay. 

Last week the term 4 ‘tricky words’ were sent home in their reader folder. Please take some time to go through these with your child, as we have seen huge growth in those that are practicing these at home. 

In Maths, we have been learning about data collection and representing information on a graph. Next week we will be exploring concepts of location and position. 

Hats – A reminder that i Term Four it is essential that your child has a hat every day.  The school has a ‘No Hat, No Play Policy’ which is now being reinforced. 

Up Coming Events  

Friday, October 24th - Grandparents Day – we welcome Grandparents and special people to come to assembly at 9am and then visit our classrooms until 10am. Foundation classes will then be attending Mass at 11:30, all welcome to come along. 

Tuesday, October 28th – Ditto Show. This is a show about personal safety. Details have been emailed home regarding this. 

Friday, October 31st - Mission Day Stalls. On this day students are invited to take part in stalls to buy items or participate in an activity for 50c. Please bring in a bag of lollies to then be made up into smaller bags to sell on the day (no chocolate please). Please refer to the email sent home on the 13th October for more details.  

Week 6: Swimming program will begin. More details to follow. 

Monday, November 24th – Pevan and Sarah excursion to Albury. More details to come.
