Student Entrepreneurs

Our names are James and George, and we are Year 11 VCE VM students at BSC. We recently started our own landscaping business with our friend, Jackson. We are three determined young people with experience in landscaping.

Being part of the VCE VM program has helped us balance our studies with running the business and given us the opportunity to develop practical skills and gain real-world experience. We have been able to put these skills into practice as we learn what is involved in running and growing a business.

Our landscaping work includes lawn mowing, mulching, weeding, garden clean-ups and maintenance, garden lighting, pressure washing and gutter cleaning. Working together on different jobs has also taught us the importance of teamwork and doing the best job we can.

Starting our own business has taught us a lot about determination and managing money, both personally and for the business. Most importantly, we have learnt that success comes from hard work, not taking shortcuts and working together as a team.

We are looking forward to continuing to build our skills, gain experience and see where the business takes us.
