Year 3 & 4
Around our level
Welcome back to Term 3!
This week, students began Term 3 by writing about an event on their holidays. Through this process, we brainstormed our ideas and created a timeline to help the students order their thoughts. They revised editing their work, and added interesting language and paragraphs to engage their audience.
In reading, we used a fluency passage to teach the students about the reading comprehension strategy of concluding. The passage was about attending a Science excursion, which gave us insight as to what we might see at our Scienceworks excursion.

During our Maths lessons, we used a variety of real life data to create bar graphs. We looked at the FIFA Women’s world cup data regarding the number of goals scored. We also looked at the rainfall data from Queensland and plotted which towns received the most rainfall in January.
Production practise has continued, with our Year 3/4 students now practising in casts. Only 5 weeks to go!
Please read our next newsletter to see photos from our Scienceworks excursion!
