Alice in Wonderland Jr. is Almost Here!
The excitement is building as students continue rehearsing for our whole-school production of Disney's "Alice in Wonderland Jr".
Over the coming weeks, rehearsals will move into full cast and dress rehearsals as we prepare for our performances at the George Wood Performing Arts Centre.
Tickets are now available through the George Wood Performing Arts Centre website or you can use the button below.
Important Costume Information
Costumes will be required for the dress rehearsal on Thursday, 13th August, and for each student's performance night.
To assist with quick costume changes in shared dressing rooms, all students are asked to wear lightweight clothing underneath their costumes, such as:
Bike shorts or tight-fitting shorts
Leggings (where appropriate)
A singlet or fitted top
Please ensure all clothing is clearly labelled.
Please note: Face paint will be applied to some students. If you have any concerns regarding face paint, please let your child's teacher know.
Thank you for your continued support. We can't wait to share this magical production with you!

Welcome back to Term 3! For the first few weeks of this term, all of our students have been participating in basketball activities. We have focused on developing foundational skills, including ball control, dribbling, passing, and shooting.
Prep - Year 2
Our junior students have been working hard on core ball control, basic dribbling, and shooting mechanics through structured games.
In our dribbling activity, "Copy This", the main focus was on teaching students to dribble the ball at various heights without looking down. This activity aimed to develop their hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and ability to follow visual cues.
In another activity, "Two Ball Knockout", the focus shifted to reaction times, speed, and shooting accuracy. This game encouraged students to quickly gain possession of the basketball and attempt to score a goal under gentle competition.
Years 3 - 6
Our older students have been building on these foundational skills and applying them to more complex team situations.
They have participated in advanced passing drills, such as the "Three Man Weave", which emphasises continuous movement, spatial awareness, and accurate passing while on the run. They also practised shooting under pressure and improved their general agility through competitive games, like "Knockout" and "Numbers". Students have started applying these skills in mock game situations. These matches have focused on court positioning, defensive awareness, teamwork, and understanding the basic rules of the game.
Thank you to all students for their fantastic effort and excellent sportsmanship so far this term.

Prep
Prep students have begun their exciting Earth and Space unit by exploring the world above them. They have been observing the sky, identifying what can be seen during the day and night, and creating colourful sky-inspired artworks. Through hands-on investigations and creative activities, students are developing their observation skills while learning about the patterns they notice in the sky.
Years 1 & 2
Year 1 and 2 students have become young scientists as they explored the daytime and nighttime sky. They investigated why we experience day and night using models of the Earth and Sun before expressing their learning through beautiful sky paintings and silhouette artworks. Students are developing their scientific observation skills while discovering how artists are inspired by nature.
Years 3 & 4
Year 3 and 4 students have accepted an exciting challenge from NASA to become Young Engineers! Working collaboratively in design teams, they investigated what makes communities successful on Earth before exploring how these ideas could be applied to future space colonies. Students designed engineering team identities, examined communities from the past, and began developing concept sketches for sustainable communities of the future.
Years 5 & 6
Year 5 and 6 students launched their Earth, Space and Indigenous Knowledge Systems unit by exploring our place in the universe. They investigated the Solar System, considered how scientific and Indigenous perspectives help us understand the night sky, and began developing scientific thinking through observation, discussion, and creative design challenges that will continue throughout the term.
