SRC News

To most other schools, the word SRC simply stands for Student Representative Council. However, at Nossal, these words carry more weight: they embody the voices, spirit, and opinions of an entire student body. The SRC is more than just a committee – it is a bridge between the students and the executive team at Nossal, working to ensure every student feels represented and heard.

With a blend of returning members and new voices, the 2026 SRC combines valuable experience with fresh perspectives.

Alongside Ms. Clarkson, we are proud to introduce our 2026 SRC executive team:

School Captains: Tashi Mallawa, Iliana Alam, Daelan De Zilwa & Darshawin Tan

President: Shania Kaushik

Secretary: Thomas Neylan

Treasurer: Ramika Loku Gamage

Communications leaders: Kathlyn Cardoza & Megan Thakur

Philanthropy leader: Ira Singhal

Respectful Relationships: Edmund Zhu

The SRC began the year by reflecting on the successes and areas of improvement in 2025. We then used this reflection to guide us in building a goal for 2026: to maximise student engagement in our school community, uniting all Nossal students.

This year’s SRC events began with the SRC drinks stall at the annual Swimming Carnival. Despite it being a rainy day, it was amazing to see all members of the Nossal community enjoying a refreshing drink while the lively swimming events took place. A couple of weeks later, we organised the Valentine's Day cupid’s delivery, a day where all the Nossal community were able to express their gratitude and appreciation for one another through thoughtful messages.

Harmony Week was another SRC driven event, packed with vibrant dance performances, cultural food stalls and a multicultural free dress day that embraced the diversity of the Nossal community. An SRC Assembly in Week 3 of this term reintroduced this year’s SRC leaders to the student body and emphasised our commitment to supporting students, listening to their ideas and helping create a more connected, united school. Behind the scenes, the SRC executive team poured their time and effort into making the assembly run smoothly. Knowing that the students of our community feel represented and heard makes all this effort worthwhile and motivates us to keep building a school community where every voice feels valued.

The SRC also has many more events planned for the rest of the school year, including but not limited to Nossal Week (coming up soon!), the annual Open Meeting, Push up Challenge and the World’s Greatest Shave. All these events provide opportunities for students to voice their opinions, demonstrate their school spirit, and most of all, have some fun along the way! Keep an eye out on the SRC Teams channel for more information on these upcoming events.
