Swinburne 2027 Early Entry program – now open for applications

This Early Entry program allows current Year 12 students to apply early and ATAR-free to selected courses at Swinburne University of Technology. Applications close 27 November 2026. Interested students should carefully read all the information on this Swinburne 2027 Early Entry program website including the key dateshow to apply (has 4 steps), the eligible courses, and answers to FAQs.

 

Successful students will receive a conditional offer – to receive a full offer students must complete VCE and the required scored VCE subject prerequisites. Students can only apply for one Swinburne Early Entry courseand their chosen course must also be added to their VTAC course application (see Step 4 instructions listed here and VTAC applications open in August). 

 

Charles Sturt University early offer program – first round applications close 31 July

Charles Sturt Advantage is an early offer program that looks at your Year 11 results and soft skills – not your ATAR. You could receive a guaranteed offer before you sit your exams and will then need to complete Year 12 and meet any course requirements. There is two application rounds and first round applications close 31 July, with offers made in September. 

 

Interested students should carefully read all the information on this Charles Sturt Advantage website, taking note of how to apply and which CSU courses* are included. AIE Open Day in Melbourne – Saturday 23 May, 10am to 3pm

Discover the courses designed to get you started in game development, 3D animation, film and visual effects at the AIE Open Day. AIE's Open Day is a great opportunity to meet our teachers, staff and students. The day will cover everything you need to know about the:

  • careers in games and VFX that AIE train students for;
  • studios and industries that AIE work with;
  • courses AIE offer - from beginners to professional mastery, and;
  • the software, skills and knowledge AIE teach.

RMIT Tech and Trades Experience Day 2026 – Wednesday 8 July, 10am to 3:30pm

Get hands on with the tech and tools of the future at RMIT's Tech and Trades Experience Day in July. Join RMIT for a hands-on day where you'll explore what life as a uni student could look like and discover which path is right for you. Experience RMIT first-hand with practical tasters from their tech and trades courses.

Future Careers Forum: Human-Computer Interactions – recording now available 

This forum recorded in April explores diverse and ever-changing careers in Human-Computer Interactions. Focusing on connection, this forum explores how technologies (and the people who develop them) help us to connect with other humans, nature, and technology itself. The recording is now available to access on YouTube by clicking here.

 

Each semester, Science Gallery Melbourne introduces your students to inspiring people who work to solve some of our most pressing global and local challenges that we as a community face. Students will hear not only about career journeys and industry connections, but how these professionals work across science, technology, engineering, arts and maths and use a range of transferable skills in the ways they work to make a difference in the world.

 

National Careers Week 2026 – 11 to 17 May

National Careers Week is an initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA). It celebrates the vibrant world of careers, shining a spotlight on career development, essential services, and the dedicated professionals who guide you on your journey. 

 

The 2026 theme is Connect. Create. Thrive., and it reflects what good career development actually looks like in practice. It is rarely a solo activity. The best career outcomes tend to come when people connect with the right support, create their own sense of direction, and build lives that work for them, not just jobs that pay the bills.

 

That applies whether you are a Year 10 student starting to think about what comes next, a mid-career professional navigating a transition, or someone returning to the workforce after time away. Career development is not a one-off event at school. It is a lifelong process, and it matters at every stage.
