Physical Education - Miss Atherton

Prep-2 have started a unit learning the basics of Golf, with putting at our focus while we learn about stance, grip, force, and swing. We have learned to play in a small team while practicing our putting skills in fun games such as Lawn Golf (like lawn bowls), and Golf relays. 

Grades 3-4 have began their hybrid unit of Fitness & Golf, starting with testing our fitness levels with a partner. In week two we reviewed putting using correct and comfortable stance, grip, force, and swing to aim for targets accurately. 

Grades 5-6 have begun their Bike Ed unit, starting off with learning how to check that our helmets and bikes are safe and ready to go. In week two we started off with riding through stations that focus on balance, steering, and control. 

The Arts - Mrs Anstis 

Students in P-2 have been working hard in Music to learn the song they will perform at Assembly in Week 5.  Prep-One classes have made animal masks and 1/2classes have made and decorated castanets, which they will use for their performance.  

Grades 3/4 and 5/6 have presented their first Media Arts projects to their peers and reflected on the process. They should be very proud of the interviews and animation videos that they have created on Canva. This term we have exciting new projects to work on including making videos about our school values. 

Science - Mrs Lewis

Grade 5 & 6 students have been putting their science skills, and knowledge of mixtures to the test, to produce batches of slime for fundraising for Grade 6 Graduation. 

Students choose particular properties, fluffy, stretchy, bouncy, or crunchy, to give their slimes and had a tonne of fun making their mixtures. 

Get down to the Druin market on Saturday this weekend, between 7am and 1pm to have a play with, or purchase, some of our awesome slime!
