Library @ MSC

The Library@MSC is open before school, after school and during breaks.  Recess and lunchtime are for schoolwork, study or independent reading.  Students may borrow 4 books on a fortnightly basis and are able to re-borrow if required.

Students have the opportunity to explore our Search kiosks, which is a great starting point to independently search for books located in the Library. Whilst the library team are always on hand to help, the skills developed from this independent practice will develop student knowledge of how to research and find information on their own for academic and day-to-day life.  Students can request books for the library by adding them to the Shopping List located at the front counter.  

Student Library Assistant Program

Students can join the Student Library Assistant Program and have the opportunity to become part of the library team, meet new people, gain appreciation from others, take on responsibility, preview new books, and help with displays and promotions. Students can attend when they feel like participating or are welcome to pop into the library and enjoy the space with their peers if they like.

Student Library Assistants progress through a module booklet and get the chance to experience borrowing out, returning and shelving books; helping people use the library; promoting the library and books; as well as creating displays. Upon successful completion of the program students receive a Student Library Assistant Program Certificate and get awarded with a Student Library Assistant badge.

Scholastic Book Club

Scholastic Book Club is now available at MSC for students to view and purchase great value books.  Many students may remember these magazines from Primary School.  They are a fundraiser for the MSC library with all reward credits invested into supplementing our book collection. Magazines are on display and available in the library or can be viewed online!
