Recent highlights

We would like to take this opportunity to highlight some exceptional efforts and achievements early in the 2025 year. These students have worked diligently with staff in the Rugby Academy to put themselves in the best position for career pathways in their chosen sport. 

MELBOURNE STORM U17s Harold Matts squad

Texas Esera Sauluni, Lasi Ata, Palu Tauelangi & Willis Teo have all been selected in the MELBOURNE STORM U17s Harold Matts squad. On the weekend, Texas and Palu headed up to NSW for their Rd 3 clash with the North Sydney Bears.

MELBOURNE STORM - IOANE LUI

This weekend, ex student I.J Lui pulled on the Melbourne Storm jersey in their pre season match against the Warriors in Hamilton, NZ. 

I.J graduated from MSC a few years ago, just prior to the commencement of the Rugby Academy. He was a part of a core group who attended weekly training and Athlete Development Program sessions. 

A clear example of focusing on goals, seeking feedback and working consistently.

RUGBY VICTORIA – 2025 JUNIOR ACADEMY

Rugby Academy members Eitini Samsoni & Matt Sauao have been selected in the 2025 Rugby Victoria Junior Academy.

NSW WARATAHS U20

Class of 2024 graduates Sam Fangatua & Poe Ah Ki have been selected in the NSW Waratahs U20 squad. 

MELBOURNE STORM FEMALE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Late last year over 80 athletes aged between 15 and 16 trialled in three combines across metro-Melbourne to put their name forward to be selected in the inaugural Storm Female Development program. Oriana Ioane (Yr 10) and Leearna Aumau (Yr 11) were both successful and will embark on a 12-week program working with Storm coaches and staff.
