Enrichment Programs launch

We are excited to announce the launch of Melton Secondary College's Enrichment Programs, which began in Week 4 on Wednesday, 19th February. These programs are designed to enrich the school experience and promote personal growth, and they mark the beginning of a new initiative to engage students in fun, skill-building activities.
This term, our students will enjoy a total of 39 Enrichment Programs across two groups: 20 programs for our Junior students (Years 7 and 8) and 19 programs for our Senior students (Years 9 and 10). The variety of activities on offer this term includes Pottery, Woodwork, Pickleball, Gardening, eGames, Taste of a Continent, Debating, Unsolved Cases Club and much more. Each program is designed to help students build on their current interests, try something new, and expand their social networks.
The Enrichment Programs will run once a week for 5 weeks:
Juniors on Wednesdays during Period 5
Seniors on Thursdays during Period 5.
Students will participate in different programs each term, allowing them to explore a wide range of interests and skills throughout the year. A key feature of our Enrichment Programs is a structured award system that recognises students' efforts and achievements across four categories:
Service
Communication
Sport
Art
Students can earn badges for their participation and progress, with three levels of achievement: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. These badges provide an exciting incentive for students to aim high, learn new skills, and demonstrate dedication in their chosen activities.
Our Enrichment Programs were established to foster a sense of connectedness and belonging among our students. By participating, students enhance their school experience while also developing personally — gaining new skills, forming friendships, and building confidence.
We are excited to see how our students will grow through these programs, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements.
