Cheltenham vs Avenues

Our 59th Exchange Squad are currently battling it out in South Australia against Avenues College and are set to return before the school holidays. From the scores being tallied so far, it seems all that training, rehearsing and practising has definitely paid off! The final scores are set to be announced at the conclusion of the event.

In 1965, keen to apply the principles of inclusion and excellence in sport, Mr Ross Smith of Victoria and Mr Jeff Nicholas of South Australia developed the exchange between Gilles Plains High School and Cheltenham High School. The Exchange aimed to challenge students to participate and work towards a higher level of skill in the name of their schools. The very first Exchange Coordinators hoped to broaden the education of their students beyond the classroom and here we are 61 years on and on our 59th Exchange!

In 2027, Cheltenham Secondary College will be hosting the 60th Exchange between our schools and we can't wait to celebrate this extraordinary milestone.
